What is Saarathi?
As humans the pain that really weighs us down is that which we experience is in the mind – it can be on on account of mild stress, disease, bereavement, lack of clarity or even extreme mental illness. The reasons can be deep rooted, numerous and even complex. The last thing people need during such times is judgement and unwelcome advise. Rather science, experience and intuition informs us about the healing power of gentle and caring conversations.

What do we do?
When people face disturbance of the mind as they often do, they may seek a trusting, wise and experienced friend to share what they are going through. This meeting is a potent space for positive change to occur – specially if the “conversation” is treated with trust and care. To be able to do this the listener needs to someone truly committed to the ideal of “caring”. Saarathi helps people pursue this ideal by teaching them helping skills and helping them practice it.

How we do it?
We empanel professionals based on their alignment with Saarathi’s values, train them on helping skills and support and supervise them as they help people in pain find peace. We leverage technology for all of these so that anyone struggling can have access to high quality, cost-effective online and in-person therapeutic conversations with Psychotherapists, Counsellors and Coaches who can be accessed from anywhere, anytime.

A brave insight, a gentle wish…
“Four givens are particularly relevant for psychotherapy – the inevitability of death for each of us and for those we love; the freedom to make our lives as we will; our ultimate aloneness; and, finally, the absence of any obvious meaning or sense to life.”
Dr. Irvin Yalom
